Known issues

Issues that have a prefix of S (S#####) are customer cases that can be tracked through MicroStrategy Technical Support. Those that are prefixed with T (T#####) are MicroStrategy internal issues. Internal issue numbers do not correlate to customer case numbers.

T272649 - The MicroStrategy Mobile application terminates when selecting the Change Language option for an edit field. This is a known issue on devices running BlackBerry OS 4.1 that do not have full keyboards. The issue is resolved in BlackBerry OS 4.2.

MicroStrategy Mobile for iPad

  • When using MicroStrategy Mobile for iPad on an iPad running iOS 5.0.x or 5.1.x, some documents might load twice in succession. This can occur if MicroStrategy Mobile Server is deployed using the web server Microsoft Internet Information Services 6.x. To avoid this issue, it is recommended to deploy MicroStrategy Mobile Server with a different certified or supported web server such as Internet Information Services 7.0.x. For information on certified and supported web servers for Mobile Server, refer to the Mobile Server deployment requirements.

MicroStrategy Mobile for Android

Be aware of the following best practices and considerations when using MicroStrategy Mobile for Android.

Supporting the Map widget on Android devices

For information on the requirements to support the Map widget on Android devices, refer to the MicroStrategy Technical Note TN 38575.

Best practices and considerations for rendering documents across iOS and Android devices

Because of the screen size difference, the same Report Services dashboard can be displayed differently when viewed on an iOS device versus an Android device. To provide an attractive display of a dashboard on an Android device while leaving the display on an iOS device unaffected, use the following properties to modify the dashboard:

  • Fit Page and Fit Width can be used to ensure the document fits to the size of the screen. Additionally, you can use the Document Fill Color or Layout Watermark to provide a background for any part of the screen that is not used by the rest of the dashboard.
  • Manually size the column widths of any grids on a dashboard, rather than using the automatic resizing options.

Supporting configuration links on Android devices

By default, tapping on a configuration link using an Android device performs a search rather than automatically configuring the MicroStrategy Mobile for Android application. This is caused by an Android OS limitation. To support tapping on a configuration link, you must do one of the following:

  • Embed the configuration link in an HTML page.
  • Convert the configuration link into a tinyURL.
