Hardware

The following information is intended to give you general guidance on hardware requirements to support the MicroStrategy product suite. Determining the necessary hardware requirements to support MicroStrategy is dependent on many factors including but not limited to the complexity of your MicroStrategy environment, the deployment strategy of MicroStrategy features, user community requirements, expected peak usage requirements, and response time expectations. Factors such as these must be considered to determine the hardware requirements for your MicroStrategy production environment.

Hardware Requirement
RAM 4 GB or higher recommended per CPU core
Processor x86 or x64 compatible
Hard Disk Space 0.5 GB or higher

For space requirements for the MicroStrategy Common Files, see Common Files size requirements on Windows environments.

Notes:

  • In addition, the web server machine must be configured with the recommended amount of system resources for the application server to be used.
  • If your system is planned to support a large number of concurrent users and you require additional assistance for hardware recommendations, MicroStrategy Professional Services offers a comprehensive Performance Analysis service to help you quickly and effectively achieve your performance goals, aligning them with your overall Business Intelligence strategy. To learn how MicroStrategy Professional Services can help you assess and prioritize your performance opportunities with a Performance Analysis, see http://www.microstrategy.com/high-performance-BI/index.asp.
